Años patinando: Empecé a patinar en el 1994 y soy pro desde el 97.

¿Cuantos días patinas a la semana?; Ahora mismo no patino mucho porque estoy muy liado organizando competiciones y desarrollando mi marca de skate. Otra razón es el tiempo, llueve mucho y prefiero patinar en la calle con amigos.

¿Quiénes son tus referentes?: Chris Farmer y Alex Broskow

Cuéntanos un poco lo que te atrajo de este deporte que te ha llevado a ser uno de los tops a nivel mundial: Al principio empecé a patinar en la calle en mi tiempo libre. Después, yo y unos amigos encontramos una minirampa y conocimos a otros rollers que ya eran bastante buenos patinando. No sabíamos ni que se podía grindar con los patines! Fuimos a una tienda de skate a comprar revistas y vídeos de rollers de los EEUU.

Hace pocos vimos reflejado tu gran proyecto CITYHOPPER en un espectacular edit. ¿Cuéntanos un poco como surgió todo y como se desarrollo? La idea principal era hacer un vídeo promocional para mis patines, los SB pro model, pero queríamos hacer algo diferente y nunca visto. Después de hablarlo con Randy, Remy, Dick y Axel, se nos ocurrió la idea de viajar por Holanda con una rampa e intentar patinar en sitios y monumentos famosos. Esa era la principal para hacer que el vídeo fuera único. Pero mientras íbamos grabando el vídeo, iban saliendo mas y mas ideas...todo el proceso de convertir esas ideas en una realidad estuvo increíble.

Park o calle: En la calle pero me gusta los skateparks pero solo suelo patinar en ellos en invierno, por el tiempo y tal. Patinar en la calle te da una sensación de libertad, es una excusa para estar al aire libre con amigos pasando el rato juntos...un skatepark es un rollo diferente.

¿De qué evento o campeonato guardas un mejor recuerdo? winterclash 2010 en berlin. Hice un truco perfecto (360 full torque a topsoul) y el publico holandés empezaron a volverse locos allí en medio unos 15 minutos...tuvieron que cancelar la sesión. Fue increíble!

¿Llegado al nivel que has llegado mantendrás un tipo de entrenamiento especifico para mantener el nivel. Cuéntanos un poco? En realidad no.. más bien como diversión en las calles con los patinadores, pero no no hay ningún entrenamiento rutinario estricto

¿Cuáles son tus próximos retos profesionales? Quiero empezar un negocio dentro del mundo de los rollers, así puedo trabajar en ello para siempre porque ya me estoy haciendo viejo. Espero poder crear algo exitoso y no solo depender de mis capacidades como roller.

¿Qué le dirías a la gente para que se inicie en el mundo Roller?: Empiézalo porque es muy divertido. No tires la toalla nunca, aunque te caes, porque esa sensación de aprender trucos nuevos y perder el miedo a caerte es increíble! Iras conociendo otros rollers y empezaras a viajar a otras ciudades y conocer gente de distintos lugares. Supongo que todo que tenga que ver con patinar es fantástico! Libertad total!!

How many years have you been skating? I began skating in 1994 and pro since 1997

Sven, tell us about what made you want to get involved with this sport & what first attracted you to it. I first started as a recreational skaters.  After some time we found a mini ramp and met some other riders that were already pretty good. We found out it was possible to make grinds with skates and we went to a local skateshop to get all the latest stuff like magazines and videos from the US.

We recently saw your incredible project, CITYHOPPER. What were the ideas behind it and how did you start putting it together? The idea behind it was to make a promotional video for my pro model. But we wanted to do something different. After some talks with Randy, Remy, Dick and Axel we came up with this idea. It was so great to make the idea happen. Traveling with one ramp through Holland trying to skate famous landmarks this was the main idea to make it different. We first started to shoot but while we where shooting the ideas were getting bigger and bigger...

How many days a week do you skate?

Right now I don't' skate so much because I'm also really busy with organizing contests and working on my skate company. Other reason is the weather. It's raining a lot and I prefer to skate outside with friends.

What is your favorite trick? Big spots or in a skatepark flatspin 360

Who inspires you to skate, famous or not? Chris Farmer and Alex Broskow

Do you prefer skating in a skate park or in the street? Street, I do enjoy skating park but its something im doing more in the winter due to the weather, Street is more like the feeling of freedom, giving you a reason to be outside hanging with friends its a totally different vibe from skating park.

Which event or competition did you enjoy the most? Winterclash 2010 Berlin. Because of that one trick I landed (360 full torque to topsoul on the sub box) the Dutch crowd started a crazy party for about 15 minutes and they had to stop the session. It was just amazing.

Do you have a specific training routine in order to maintain your current level? Tell us about it. Not really. More like having fun in the streets with recreational skates it brings back the fun to skating but no there is no strict training routine haha

What are your plans for the future?

For the feature I want to try to create a business within the skating world so I can always work within that industry As I'm getting older I hope to create something Im not only depending on my own skills.

What advice would you give to someone who is interested in starting blading?

Start because of the fun of it and don't give up after a few slams because the feeling of learning new tricks and loosing your fear is such a great feeling. Soon you will meet other bladers and you started to travel to other cities and meet people from different countries/cities. It's just the total picture that is so great. I guess Freedom!
